I am a senior at the University of Nebraska Omaha, majoring in Journalism and Media Communications with a minor in sociology. For this multimedia journalism project, I wrote and edited both the audio and video stories, as well as the website. Working with my team and exploring the significant history and current situations relating to redlining was an informative, challenging, and important process. Having lived in South Omaha my entire life, it was fascinating to learn about both the historical and current pollutants in redlined areas.

My name is Jade Thornton and I worked on the written article for this multimedia project. My major is journalism and I am a senior at UNO. This project has been eye-opening in a lot of ways. I didn’t really know about how bad the pollution is in Omaha, particularly redlined areas, before this. It has been interesting to learn about and talk with people who have been researching pollution in Omaha for years.

My name is Ivan Tovar. I worked on the photos and drone shots for this project. I am a journalism major with a minor in communications. I have spent my entire life in Omaha, more specifically, south Omaha. Ever since I was little I have had a feeling that Omaha had different areas and today with this project, I learned how different places actually are in Omaha and how parks and towns are different. If I had to his perspective at a young age, I wonder how it will change now for the next generation

My name is Alexander Woelich. I worked on the infographics for this project. I am Mass communications major with a minor in computer science. I grew up in the Bellevue area, so Omaha was always close by. Learning the injustices committed in the Omaha area and the effects the community is feeling to this very day are shocking to say the least. My eyes have become open.

My name is Pablo Perez and I worked on some of the pictures and voiced the radio script. My major is journalism with a minor in business. This project is something to really think about if you grew up here in Omaha. You see the diversity and unjust actions that took play in the earlier years by polluting the soil, air, and many more.
